Downspouts are a part of the gutter system that attach to the bottom of your gutter leading down your wall to the ground to drain water.
Contrary to popular sales tactics, larger spouts do not produce more drainage unless paired with larger gutters. We use 2×3 spouts with 5″ gutters due to the size of the hole we can drill for the outlet to attach the spout.
Residential areas are typically 5″ where your commercial buildings are 6″.
